Zhang Minghu was born in Meixian County, Shaanxi Province in 1946. Since childhood, he loved calligraphy,'All over Europe, Liu, Yan, Zhao, Erwang, Sun Guoting and Yu Youren's Standard Cursive scripts. In 2005, Meixian Lanting Calligraphy School was founded to train more than 1,000 adults and students for the society. He has been awarded "Excellent Counselor of Calligraphy Education" by Provincial Culture Federation, Culture Department and Song Qingling Foundation, and "Gardener Award of Calligraphy Education" and advanced units.
In the International Children's Calligraphy Exhibition, he has won the Gold Prize of Calligraphy Instructor for many times. Calligraphy works from 2006 to 2013 were selected into Korean Calligraphy Competition and won special prizes, regular scripts and cursive scripts in the National Calligraphy Competition and were collected. In 2016, he was awarded "Shaanxi Excellent Celebrity School", "Baoji Xiu Education Unit", "Ten Best Celebrity Teachers of Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia" by CCTV; his calligraphy works were selected as "The 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China and the Nineteenth Limited Edition Postbook", and won the title of a famous contemporary pioneer
